It's quite sad that we even have to talk about The Last Of Us Part II like this.

After waiting seven long years for the sequel to hit PS4, there are some fans out there who've just had the story spoiled for them, right at the final hurdle.

The word "infuriating" springs to mind.

This whole debacle started just a few days ago, when an unknown individual leaked cutscenes and plot details from the upcoming Sony exclusive. And not just early-game stuff either - we're talking important twists and turns, and story-spoiling revelations.

Allegedly, a disgruntled Naughty Dog employee was responsible for the leak, although the situation is still ongoing and we don't yet have all the facts.

What we do know is that, in response, Sony hurriedly announced a new June release date for the game (and simultaneously set Ghost of Tsushima for July), while a statement from Naughty Dog called the whole situation "disappointing".

Even under normal circumstances, "disappointing" would be an apt description of this leak, but it's extra disappointing considering that the entire planet is going through a stressful time right now, and for some people, The Last Of Us Part II was one of the few things to look forward to.

If you're concerned about story spoilers, all we can advise you to do is to tread carefully.

On the plus side, June isn't a million miles away.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
