7 Video Games That Exploited Your Nostalgia (And WON)
4. The Soundtrack Of Your Youth - Tony Hawk's 1+2 Remaster
Now I won't lie to you, as soon as the option for pre-ordering the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 Remaster appeared on my screen so too did my fist as I desperately hammered through to reserve a copy.
The original trilogy of Tony Hawk's games was absolutely pivotal to my interest in gaming as a whole and I know so many other games who list these titles as some of their favorite childhood titles, and while Activision could have easily just slapped a high-res texture pack on top and wheeled it out to make an absolute bundle, they did the unthinkable and actually set out to make a decent and loving Remaster of the original two games.
And in amongst all the promises of reworked gameplay, additions such as the revert being added into the titles and online support, were a feature that filled many with that warm gooey goodness of nostalgia.
I'm speaking of course about the soundtrack, which while having a few omissions due to licensing issues was heavily touted as offering up every smash hit you'd come to love as a youth, and it was incredible to see people's appreciation for this dedication in recreating those halcyon days.
The fact that the gameplay was genuinely stunning made this nostalgia hype all the better, because as it stands this actually blows the original titles out of the water, and I do not say that lightly.
