8 Franchises We Want To See A Lego Game Adaptation Of

Star Wars or Star Trek? It’s a question that used to dominate science fiction circles, though it's perfectly acceptable to appreciate both. The former has far superior box office revenues and cultural presence, having gone from strength to strength commercially since Disney bought the rights over a decade ago, but some would argue that Star Wars has been done to death at this point.

This is particularly true from a Lego standpoint. Star Wars was the first franchise to be licensed and has been the subject of more sets and video games (the next of which, covering the whole Skywalker Saga, has been continuously delayed but should finally release soon) than any other. Star Trek, on the other hand, has never been immortalised in brick form, denying fans the ability to craft the Enterprise to put next to their Death Star or Millennium Falcon.

Mega Blox, a cheaper Lego knockoff, currently hold the rights to Gene Roddenberry’s creation. Were Lego to acquire it, they’d have a wealth of material to explore, with the franchise having spanned ten television series and thirteen films since its 1966 debut. From Vulcan to Voyager, conceivably anything from multiple generations and timelines could be included in a game adaptation, with elements like redshirt deaths or hammy moments (‘KHAAAAAAAAN’) ripe for parody.
