8 Franchises We Want To See A Lego Game Adaptation Of
1. Disney Animation
"Disney" is a very broad umbrella, given that the House of Mouse own pretty much everything these days (their bid to takeover WhatCulture should be finalised any day now), including Star Wars and Marvel, both of which have been the subjects of multiple Lego games. Pixar’s The Incredibles is the only animated property that has been requisitioned for such a purpose, however, and is one of the weaker games in the series due to its lack of depth.
Disney and Lego have a storied history, beginning with the release of Winnie the Pooh Duplo in 1999. Their take on Cinderella’s castle, which dominates the Magic Kingdom skyline, is one of the most well-known (and expensive) sets, and all sorts of properties, from Wall-E to Phineas & Ferb, have been the subject of brick creations.
Though Disney’s animated properties do not frequently crossover, when they do it's fairly epic. Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts has retold the stories of the most notable Animated Classics, as well as a handful of live action and Pixar films like Pirates of the Caribbean and Toy Story, through the lens of original character Sora and his comrades Donald Duck and Goofy, whilst Disney Infinity was a huge money-maker and pioneer of the ‘toys to life’ genre.
Traveller’s Tales should get the opportunity to prove themselves worthy of creating something similar, bringing almost a century of animated history together in brick form, allowing for endless character combinations (from Baymax to Buzz Lightyear) in a wealth of worlds.
