8 Great Trailers For Underwhelming Video Games

6. Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City

Where to start with this game. It feels as if it could’ve been from a completely different series. Operation Raccoon City sees you play as a team of STARS members, battling zombies only concerned with finding some delicious brains to munch on.

While this does sound like an intriguing concept, the execution is far from spectacular. The gameplay is broken, scares are minimal, characters have no personality and the world feels like a tiny cut above being set inside a complicated cardboard box. A disappointingly drab experience that never really captured the Resident Evil feel of the original games.

The release trailer certainly provided a different perspective. The diverse STARS members struggling to survive, mixed with an elite super soldier team sent in to deal with them, creates an exciting and fun game.

This trailer created some great hype, and with a big name like Resident Evil behind it, it seemed like it couldn’t fail, but oh how we were wrong.

This was a huge swing, and a colossal miss.
