Having got the pleasantries out of the way, it's time to bring the hammer down.

MyFaction mode is the WWE2K series' attempt to hop onto the live-service bandwagon. It is also - and this is said knowing just how bad this type of game can get - one of the absolute worst examples of its kind ever created.

MyFaction is the most catatonically dull live-service experience this writer has ever had the misfortune to experience. A soul-sucking act of drudgery comprised of visually unappealing menus, repetitive matches and miniscule rewards, the kind thing to do would be to take MyFaction mode around the back and tell it about the rabbits.

Having said that, given how hard 2K Games have pushed MyFaction over the past two years it's unlikely they'll take the Steinbeck option. As such, they must surely have listened to the criticism it's attracted over the past year and rebuilt the experience into something more palatable.

Expect a massively overhauled front end, more daily quests, faster resource acquisition (boy, is that a weird sentence to type about a wrestling game) and far better rewards for the player's time. If not, then 2K Games' latest cash cow is going to spend another year squeezing out nothing but dust and bitter regrets.
