1. Meeting A God - Valheim

Valheim is such a wonderful game. The combination of ancient myth, survival genre-gameplay and a luscious world that seems to reveal more secrets each time you push over the horizon has seen the title take the world by storm and with bloody good reason.

It's easy to become lost in this living fairytale as you gather supplies, stalk prey and then unwind with friends chatting about what they've seen or done that day. It's altogether relaxing, calm and peaceful (outside of combat at least), which makes the shrouded figure you can see only at night feel all the more strange and a little scary.

As you travel through the world, you might notice a figure standing off in the distance, simply watching your progress, and when you move towards this shadow, it disappears in a puff of blue smoke. It's strange, even for a fantasy game, and it got players who experienced this discussing who it might be.

It turns out that, thanks to his description in legends, that this might in fact be Odin, one of the many Norse gods, but here of war and victory. He is described as travelling the realms cloaked in shadow, carrying a walking stick. It's a brilliant moment that actually looks to empower the player, insinuating that your actions are worthy of even a Gods attention!
