8 Joke Video Game Weapons That Destroyed Video Games
6. Groovitron - Ratchet & Clank
In the Ratchet and Clank franchise, joke weapons are pretty much par for the course, with at least a handful being sprinkled into each title. Yet unlike pretty much every other title that uses joke weapons to laugh at the player somewhat, Ratchet and Clank sure does pack these pun-tastic weapons full of power!
Just look at the Groovitron as an example of this! A reoccurring weapon in the series, this weapon releases a disco ball projectile that makes every single enemy on-screen dance along to its funky beat. In a monstrously impressive display, the 2016 video game/movie-tie in/remake actually matched the Groovitrons music to that of the stage music perfectly which is just so sumptuous I can't even begin to tell you how much I love it.
While locked in this state of Disco Fever, the Groovitron renders every enemy open to attack, and because this also works on bosses as well, you can make short work of pretty much anyone who tries to attack you.
Making this even better, if that's even possible, is the fact that some games allow the Groovitron to be upgraded to the Groovibomb which causes the disco ball to explode, cutting through enemies as they cut the rug!
