In the event of a zombie apocalypse you best be hoping your sidearm is well oiled and maintained, as if Red Dead Redemptions outstanding standalone DLC Undead Nightmare is anything to go by, you're going to be spewing more hot lead than an ore refinery.

Luckily for us then, this expansion pack houses the almighty Mauser Pistol, a medium damage-dealing sidearm that has the quickest rate of fire in the game thanks to being semi-automatic.

When you've got a horde of undead clamouring for your throat, you'll be thanking every deity under the sun for the ability to fire so quickly. This rate of fire actually makes it the most useful weapon in the game, as not only does it mean you can get more rounds off into enemies, but also because of the game's staggering system, which means you can stun-lock foes into oblivion.

The Wild West was an unforgiving time, and one filled with the Living Dead even less so, but if your aim is true and you can complete the Undead Sharpshooter Challenges to rank 5 then this will be your very useful reward.
