Now here's the thing, when it comes to Legend Of Zelda games they are, more often than not, absolute love letters to the adventure genre and so are made with a huge amount of time and care. As such the majority of Zelda titles hit the market with little to no bugs in them and are rightly championed as a result.

However it's at this point that the more sardonic of you might be cracking your fingers in order to blast your keyboards with comments of Zelda's CDI nightmare fuel CGI scenes and woeful gameplay, or of Zelda 2's hugely deflating moment to moment gameplay that sought to remove all the charm established by the original, and you'd be right! These games are about as much fun as licking live electrical wires, but here's the problem, a patch can't exactly smooth over broken gameplay, so we need to look to Link's other adventures for our entry on this list.

And so we turn to Link's Awakening for the Game Boy, an utterly brilliant title full of charm, oddity and with the added bonus of being able to play it on the bus into school. Yet for all of the fun frolicking taking place in the game, there existed a rather nasty bug that was utterly crying out for a patch, and it all centered around the purchase of a second shovel.

Now I know that might not sound like much of an issue, but the problem was is that your inventory in this game has a limit, that being one space for every item in the game you need to complete your quest, so for example if you were to trade your shovel for a Boomerang and then purchase a second shovel, you've accidently just locked out the ability to pick up a key item later in the game.

Uh oh.

And the game doesn't inform you of this so you'll only find out your mistake come the final part of the game which is now rendered impossible.

Uh. oh.

So enjoy restarting your entire adventure!
