8 Secret Video Games We Can Prove Are In Development
3. Darksiders III
Still one of the most overlooked and underrated hack n' slash RPGs of them all, Darksiders 2 in particular is a fantastic romp through a highly-stylised world, mixed with some very satisfying and in-depth gameplay.
Although the series has received the budgetary clout of a triple-A studio, mixed with the mess that comes with that same company falling apart - and the complete lack of PR exposure alongside - the dissolution and rebranding of THQ and Nordic Games has finally calmed, allowing the cat to spring out the bag once again...
Commenting on a Steam forum thread that was accusing the studio of remastering the second instalment for no reason, Nordic's Reinhard Pollice clarified:
"Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition was just the start. Since we acquired the franchise we were looking for options for doing a DS3. The remaster was just a way to get some spotlight on the franchise again, reactivate the community and have a better starting position for DS3."
It may not have been picked up by the mainstream press all that much, but for those of us who've discovered and fallen in love with Darksiders overall (and honestly, it's the nearest thing to a Legacy of Kain game you can get right now, so you really should), we couldn't be happier.
Speaking of Legacy of Kain...
