You'll hear no argument from us fine goblins at WhatCulture when someone states that "Video Games are a power fantasy", because how can you honestly say differently?

Power and the division of it is at the heart of every video game. From superhero action titles that let you punch a school bus to the moon, to first-person shooters that let you miraculously sweat out pieces of shrapnel like it was nothing. Hell, even walking simulators and indie titles that posit you as a being with no powers whatsoever are engaging with this idea. The aim is escapism of all forms and the gaming industry provides a kaleidoscope of different options.

Yet one thing that will also mess with your vision and make you see fractals is when you're on the receiving end of a powerful world-ending special move, and boy howdy, there are a lot of plumb-punching, spine-shattering, and mind-melting ones to choose from. Yet there are those that rise above the gore-soaked pack and provide the player with the option of unleashing such devastation or humiliation that your eyebrows might actually tear off your head in bemusement.

So, let's unleash these over-the-top ultra moves!

8. Stimulating Fist Of Annihilation - Guild Gear Xrd

The fighting game genre is home to some of the most outlandish and thoroughly insane special moves, that much is clear from just a cursory glance, yet things have turned into a strange arms race of sorts within competing titles. After all, when a fireball is most characters' basic special attacks, you really have to think outside the box in order to stand out.

Or you could, as is the case of Faust from Guilty Gear Xrd stick a finger in the box and call it a day, as that's what his "Stimulating Fist Of Annihilation" is, in essence. A finger up the chocolate chute.

In a manner emulating the real-life Japanese obsession with the "Kancho" prank - which is literally poking your mate in the anus for a laugh - Faust does some rectal examinations of his own. The results range from downright hilarious, to having to pop your game on mute lest your parents hear this utter filth.

No matter the expression, the outcome is always the same for the player; a moment to reflect on what the actual hell you're doing in this game.
