8 Video Game Tie-Ins BETTER Than The Original

1. Dragonball Evolution

So I have to start this final entry with an apology, as just mentioning the name "Dragonball Evolution" is likely to cause many DBZ fans in the audience to feel like they're trying to pass a Senzu bean-sized kidney stone, such was the sheer devastating stink the 2009 film wiped over the franchise.

Honestly, when this abomination came out, fans were embarrassed, they were ashamed, and as friends and family members pointed and laughed at the now shrinking size of our Dragon balls, it seemed like it was "back to that weird corner of the internet for you weebs!"

Yet what if I were to tell you that the video game tie-in for Dragon Ball Evolution was actually good?! Well to be fair you'd probably just state that having someone's greasy spit gifted to you in a video game case would be better than the movie, and you'd be right, but this video game actually puts in a rather decent inning, even if at it's core it's still a cheap cash grab.

The reason I say this is that the devs were so lazy they just slapped some skins on top of another fighting game engine and called it a day. Normally this would be a problem but the game in question is goddam Dragonball Z Budukai, aka one of the most beloved fighting titles out there. Yes the skins look ropey enough to hang yourself with and of course, the sound effects and overall polish of the game is smelly garbage, but the actual controls are....decent!

And trust me that's a word that wasn't even in the same plane of existence as the original film.
