8 Ways Assassin’s Creed Rogue Is The Best In The Series
2. Most Fun Missions In The Series
A game can be as artistically sound and mechanical solid as it can be, but what really matters is how fun it is to play. Look at fighting games. The story in them can be a little poor and it often devolves into button mashing, but they are some of the most fun games to play because it’s fun to pummel another character into the dirt.
And to that end, I’ve had some of the most fun experiences and missions I’ve ever had in an Assassin’s Creed game, in Rogue. The mission 'Kyrie Elesion' and running through rapidly crumbling city of Lisbon as an earthquake devastates it is easily one of the most tense and exciting missions in the series. Running over slanted buildings as the collapse is just awesome.
Hunting down Adéwale and running him aground before taking him on in one of the more challenging fights in the game is easily one of the most impactful moments in the series. And not to mention chasing down your old friend through a crumbling ice cave, before fighting him atop an ice shelf. It’s one of the most epic and poignant moments in the game and doesn’t get enough credit.
When it comes to genuine fun to play you might say Black Flag has the game-play, but Rogue has that, fun missions and just a great experience. Games are meant to be fun and Rogue is easily that.
That Lisbon mission is worth playing the game alone.
