5. Script By Two Of The Best Writers In The Business
I'll get into the many stories that have emerged over Uncharted 4's development in a later point, as when it comes to the story, we've got The Last of Us' twin-scribes Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley overhauling the direction A Thief's End was supposed to go, now having a far more powerful and emotive tone throughout. As development on Uncharted 4 had lasted longer than expected, the two writers were able to come in and tighten the whole thing up - actually going so far as to change the ending and overall plot line. This reportedly resulted in voice actors Alan Tudyk and Todd Stashwick leaving the project (don't worry, they weren't/aren't known characters) as they didn't like where it was heading - but the benefit, is we've got an Uncharted game matured and refined by the BAFTA award-winning duo. Also, don't forget, Uncharted 2 was directed by Straley and written with the aid of Druckmann, arguably producing the greatest instalment in the series to date. Such a game, alongside The Last of Us' various accolades, proves these guys can work wonders together, and following Uncharted 3 being handed over to Amy Hennig (who's also since left), A Thief's End marks the return of the pair to the universe alongside Drake himself.
