9 "Hated" Video Games You Should Play In 2020
5. Mass Effect Andromeda
Look, I just said these games were worth playing for a reason. Mass Effect Andromeda is certainly not worth experiencing for its story, characters or cutscene direction.
Thankfully though, there are a ton of positives, if you're either a sci-fi/Mass Effect fan who just wants to hang out on a ship with some aliens, going place to place, or you're a third-person shooter fan, as this game's combat is brilliant.
The latter is the easiest recommendation. Andromeda gives you a snappy four-way jetpack boost, letting you evade or close the distance on enemies, while constantly planning who to target next.
Biotic Charges carry over from Mass Effect 2 and 3, meaning some far-away sniper can be space-punched off their perch at lightspeed, if they were stupid enough to look your way.
The entire approach to speccing characters is blown wide open. Mass Effect Andromeda lets you unlock every ability from every individual class, rather than being locked to one for the duration.
There's a neat enough crafting system with some cool one-off weapons, plenty of quests to undertake and a handful (I repeat, handful, of side missions worth seeking out).
You won't care about the story and the game's DLC expansions were totally abandoned, but if you ever want a cheap sandbox sci-fi game with great combat, it's right here.
