9 "Hated" Video Games You Should Play In 2020
6. Assassin's Creed Unity
The product of a game being rushed to hit holiday release windows over actual playability, AC Unity's 40GB file size was completely replaced on Xbox One, just to get it running.
The world moved on, laughing as they went, but ultimately, Unity had many positives that after months of patches, make it a recommendable entry in the series.
First off, Arno and Elise are a phenomenal leading couple. Acted brilliantly by Dan Jeannotte and Catherine Bérubé, their tale might be a bit generic, but every scene together is electric and just loveable.
Unity also has one of the best worlds Ubisoft have ever designed, and you can tell they were gearing up to capitalise on all that "Next generation starts here" marketing. Many of this game's interiors are absolutely stunning - not to mention the attention to detail with facial animation, clothing and weapons.
Lastly, gameplay. Whilst performance issues and frame rate bugs made it shoddy and unreliable in 2014, smoothed over, Unity is a return to the original game's feel. Which is to say: You actually feel like an assassin, planning and executing kills, rather than a walking whirlwind slaughterhouse that kills 50 people every half hour.
