9 Best Video Games Of 2020 You DIDN'T Play
5. Deadly Premonition 2
Completely overlooked thanks to launching in an unacceptably broken state, Deadly Premonition 2 also had the uphill battle of trying to make lightning strike twice with its cult fanbase.
Because honestly, there is NO game quite like the original Deadly Premonition.
Often regarded as "The Room of video games", Deadly Prem 1 was a tornado of old-school movie quotes, Twin Peaks references, a murder mystery plot drive and "Agent Francis York Morgan" being a cypher for developer Suda 51's idolisation of Americana.
Thankfully, Deadly Prem 2 does manage to do it all over again, this time steering headlong into aping True Detective over David Lynch, and giving you a multiple timeline murder to solve, with a grizzled, pot-smoking Morgan in the present trying to get his head together.
Thought of as one that only the fans would love, I'd still recommend you play the original in a heartbeat, but Suda and Rising Star did get this together... eventually.
