Jade Empire's easily one of the most underrated RPGs of all time. Unlike the big names of the genre, it strays away from fantasy realms or the vast reaches of space, opting instead to detail a sprawling vision of mythical China. The world was fascinating, the combat was complex and the branching narrative made replaying a necessity.
The release of the RPG marked one of the biggest exclusive experiences available on the original Xbox. Players were provided with a vast open-world crammed with things to do, a game that defined the limitless power of Microsoft's first console.
Much as it did then, a Jade Empire reboot could provide fans with another 100 hour life-sinker that showcases the Xbox One X console, as well as provide an exclusive geared towards hardcore gamers.
With PlayStation releasing some hugely successful RPGs, it stands to reason that Xbox needs a few of their own to even the score. Jade Empire could easily be one such franchise, its premise diverting away from the mainstays of the genre and into a territory that would be foolish not to exploit.
