System: NES

Little Nemo: The Dream Master provides further evidence that Capcom was the king of licensed platformers in the 90s. Based off the comic strip by Winsor McCay, the game was developed to release in conjunction with the animated film Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland. Unfortunately, the movie ran into some production hurdles and the simultaneous release did not happen. In 1989, the film was released in Japan, but it took three more years for the US version. Between that time, LN: The Dream Master was released on the NES.

As Nemo, you could take on different abilities of animals like a bee or an ape to progress through the levels which became more difficult the farther you went. It was not an easy game by any means, but did feature a fun story and a soundtrack for the ages.
