5. Elena Dies At The End Of Uncharted 4
Likelihood: 6/10 Pretty much every last piece of PR around Uncharted 4 has alluded to it 'definitely' being the last one. Nate's voice actor Nolan North has said as much, as well as lead scriptwriter Neil Druckmann noting in an
interview with The Sun, that it would be "really hard" following the ending of Uncharted 4, to continue the series. Now, many fans have speculated that this would be because Nate or even Sully (please God, not Sully) would die, but if you look to a
Reddit AMA that both Druckmann and fellow script-whiz Bruce Straley took part in, Neil responded to a comment on how sad and dark The Last of Us was, by saying
"I'm pretty dark (I wanted to kill Elena in Uncharted 2). Bruce is the one that would balance me and push for more levity." It's entirely possible that a large part of Uncharted 4's story will be about Nate having to decide between his new life with Elena, and helping out his brother Sam in whatever turmoil he's involved in. We know the crux of the tale is Sam coming back into Nate's life when he least expects it, the two of them going off to indulge in all sorts of adventures, assumedly then resulting in Elena taking a backseat. Could the final Uncharted really have such a dark moment though? Nobody wants to see Drake and Elena separated for good. My take is that if anything, she decides to leave him, recognising that adventuring is just something he 'has to do' - although even that would be a very weird way to close out the franchise following the close of part three.
