9 Most Discussed Video Game Plot Holes That Will Never Be Answered

4. Resident Evil 4's Saddler Says He Wanted You To Escape... After Repeatedly Trying To Kill You

Resident evil 4

The entire plot of Resident Evil 4 focuses on Leon Kennedy's attempt to rescue Ashley, the President's daughter, who's been kidnapped by a Las Plagas-worshipping cult.

Players go through hell and back throughout the game to save Ashley, facing off against angry villagers, skewering a giant mutated fish and surviving constant traps laid by the game's main boss, Saddler.

Which makes it all the more ridiculous when you find out that Saddler's master plan the whole time wasn't to kill Leon at all, but to have him actually rescue the infected Ashley and take her back to the USA, where she would pass the infection on to the President and hopefully the entire population.

It's a fine plan, but it's one that would have only made sense if Saddler hadn't been trying to kill Leon for the entire game.
