9 Reasons You Shouldn't Buy A PS4 Pro
3. Some Of Its Best Features Are Available On The Original PS4
One of the Pro's selling points is it's gorgeous HDR colour and enormous 1TB hard drive. HDR, in layman's terms, sends more information to your TV screen, including brightness at specific points. Bright colours and whites shine and gleam with more power, while dark colours earn a murky depth without losing any detail or colour.
It's an effect that has to be seen first hand to really know how effective it can be.
But both of these features are something you don't even need a Pro to enjoy. Sony pushed an upgrade way back in October for preparation of the Pro's launch, and it adds the feature to display HDR colour to all PS4's.
Not just the new Slim, either. All of them.
Plus, the old PS4 shipped with 500GB, which is half the size of 1TB, but it also has a replaceable hard drive.
So really, if you're in the market for a far better TV, you don't even have to break out for a new PS4 alongside it. Your old PS4 will still put out a far more gorgeous colour on your new TV, and buying a new HDD will free up your storage space for a mere fraction of the cost. So you can download all of the monthly PS+ games without a care in the world.
