Bunk beds are one of the most asked for items, to the point where The Sims team have had to address it multiple times - giving reason after reason as to why they can't do it.

These range from 'it would be difficult to create the animations' to blaming the 'foundational technology' of the game as well as the lack of 'meaningful' update. Whilst the Sims team can send out surveys and make the fan base feel heard, it is truly evident how little they actually listen when you look to bunk beds.

The high quality and animations made for free by passionate fans who love the game show how fully paid and trained developers could easily create the same thing. Those who cannot or do not like to use mods have even started to use the new platform building mechanic to create bunkbeds. There most likely are some reasons behind the scenes as to why the team can't make bunkbeds, but those reasons are starting to look thin compared to the scrawling pages of bunk-bed mods and custom items.
