9 Video Game Characters Who Would Make An Awesome Suicide Squad
5. Captain Boomerang - Trevor (GTA V)
Aussie bad boy Captain Boomerang found himself a little lost in the shuffle of the first Suicide Squad movie. While that’s not something you’d typically accuse GTA’s Trevor of, Boomerang had the potential to be so much more. Director David Ayer’s advice on playing Boomerang was ‘find your inner s#%$bag’ and there’s no one in the video gaming who suits that tag more than Trevor.
Turning to the comics (as silver screen Boomerang offers painfully little to go on), we see a man who is violent, reckless, and not above the occasional screw up, which sounds just like our favourite Los Santos loose cannon.
Even his choice of weapon screams GTA. A boomerang? Really? Granted, he almost killed the Flash with once, but you’d think he’d have upgraded by now, especially with all his rugged machismo.
Perhaps that’s because Boomerang is someone you’d never accuse of planning ahead. Much like Trevor, Boomerang’s unpredictablity is what makes his character stand out. Or would have, if it were given time to shine. With James Gunn attached to the sequel and rumours swirling of soft reboots or even a full restart, we may never get to see Jai Courtney’s Boomerang go full Trevor.
