9 Video Game Moments Of 2018 That Gave You Chills

9. The Android Graveyard - Detroit: Become Human

Detroit Become Human Graveyard
Quantic Dream

Detroit: Become Human is jam-packed with gorgeous, insane and unforgettable moments, yet none left quite as strong an impression as the instantly iconic "android graveyard" sequence.

After android Markus (Jesse Williams) breaks his programming and ends up shot, he's dumped in a landfill that serves as a hellish final resting place for discarded androids.

The nightmarish scene sees the player repairing Markus' damaged chassis while wading through a sea of half-dead androids, some of who simply wish to be finished off.

In its strongest moments the scene evokes the apocalyptic future envisioned in the earlier Terminator movies, aided by some eye-wateringly incredible visuals.

As melodramatic as the game got in its later stages, this sequence represents the very best of what Quantic Dream is capable of: pure, visceral feeling.
