9 Video Game Plot Details EVERYONE Missed
1. DOOMguy Has A Wife And Child
Yes, in the words of wrestling's Jim Ross, that man's got a family.
Though DOOM Eternal was slightly divisive amongst the DOOM fandom for being perhaps a little bit too whacky and "video gamey" with its power-ups, level design and portrayal of DOOMguy himself, that did mean the character got fleshed out more than ever.
I'm talking DOOMguy's bedroom coming with flying V-style heavy metal guitars, an assortment of PC games that he enjoys in between the slaughter, and most fascinating of all: The fact he did once have a family.
Located on the floor in the Fortress of DOOM, this goes alongside the barely-ever talked about history of one Flynn Taggart who would become DOOMguy, a "non-practicing Catholic [who] maintains a healthy belief in God", according to the DOOM novels.
Brilliantly, this fact was confirmed by DOOM Eternal creative director Hugo Martin on a post-launch livestream, showing there’s a little-known history to the character from the last few decades that iD are more than aware of.
