9 Video Games Coming In 2018 You've Already Forgotten About

2. Metal Gear Survive

State Of Decay 2
Konami

Not so much involuntarily forgotten as forcefully scrubbed from memory, Metal Gear Survive's appeal (or lack thereof) is a problem, one that Konami needs to work hard on providing an answer for before the spin-off hits retail in February.

The original press release dispatched for Survive in 2016 specifies the inclusion of those all-important stealth elements, but it's a passing mention that reads as little more than lip service aimed at those worried about Metal Gear's future direction, following its creator's departure.

Even stoic Kojima loyalists aren't going to scoff at a co-op Metal Gear title, but with a noticeably reduced focus on stealth, no Snake [Big Boss] and plenty of reused assets, it's hard to shake the feeling that Survive is anything but an attempt to capitalize on brand popularity with a survival shooter devoid of any trademarks that make Metal Gear what it is.

Careful, Konami, if you can't justify the name tag adorning Survive's box, you could well be incurring the wrath of the internet in just a few short months.
