Announced at the PlayStation Showcase in September 2021, the idea of a KOTOR remake was welcomed with open arms. We've not seen anything approximating "classic Bioware" in far too long, with the only title in recent memory that's recommendable being the Mass Effect Legendary Edition - itself harking back to the era after KOTOR, Jade Empire and everything in between.

Cut to the present day though, and the reason you haven't seen anything from this Aspyr-developed title is apparently because there's nothing to show. According to various insiders, including Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, whatever version of the game that was in motion got canned in 2022, with development shifting to another of Embracer Group's teams, Saber Interactive, to try again.

We've since had another update from known leaker Jeff Grubb, actively saying he "doesn't think the KOTOR Remake will ever come out", assumedly due to how little of a project direction this had from the beginning, zero Bioware involvement, and how little we've seen since 2021.
