9 Ways Video Games Punished Rage-Quitters

3. Timeout Bans - World Of Warcraft

Another game that has more than stood the test of time and been forced to work out how to best deal with rage-quitters is World of Warcraft.

Though much of WoW can be played solo without the need to put the ban hammer down on players who are having a rough time of it, that isn’t true of everything the MMORPG has to offer. Those who quit PvP matches or PvE content such as dropping out of a dungeon before fighting the final boss will face timeout bans that last up to 30 minutes.

While this doesn’t stop them from questing, it does prevent that bad egg player from jumping back in with the same group trying to beat the dungeon so their impact on spoiling other player’s enjoyment is limited.

World of Warcraft may not have the most inventive punishment on this list but if it works, it works.
