7. Salem Witch Trials

Being a fan of all things supernatural, the idea of an Assassin's Creed game that briefly abandons it's realistic elements in favour of something more other-worldly, especially in conjunction with this setting is a hugely attractive one. After all, if games like Call of Duty can have a zombie mode, why can't there be a supernatural element to other games? This would work especially well as an expansion, or a DLC pack for Assassin's Creed 3 - though of course the real Salem Witch Trials happened more than 50 years before the start of this game. Still, creative licence has never got in the way of a good game before - and the supernatural elements of the story could be staged as the aftermath of the Witch Trials, with the Assassin charged with taking down targets who perpetrated the murders while also navigating haunted sequences and dispatching, or at least fending off ghostly apparitions. Sure, people will no doubt complain that the supernatural elements would be a betrayal of the realism of the series - but I would suggest the entire concept of the franchise requires a major suspension of belief. It's simply a matter of degrees.
