6. Barcelona
Incase it hasn't become apparent by this point, this list has a focus on cities which are full of culture, beautiful architecture, and offer a very different experience to previous GTA cities and Barcelona is no different. The second Olympic city on this list (after Rome), Barcelona's famous architecture is defined in part by the incredible vision of Antoni Gaudi and includes the world famous Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família, which despite having seen construction commence in 1882 reamins unfinished. Barcelona, like many other cities on the list, isn't a city that gamers would want to speed through. It's a city best enjoyed at a leisurely Catalan pace and with the ever increasing Catalan Independence movement could lead to some incredible story lines, which depending on the outcome could offer a fantastic insight into where Barcelona and Spain could be heading.
