2. Tokyo
Tokyo very nearly didn't make this list but as soon as I remembered that Sleeping Dogs was based in Hong Kong, and not Tokyo, it became a no-brainer that it needed to feature on the list and that it needed to feature high up the list. Like the other Asian cities on this list, Tokyo has a fantastic mix of traditional Asian architecture; claustrophobic, overcrowded streets; and modern skyscrapers reaching high above the city. It's the latter which gives Tokyo the second spot on this list. One of the world's leading economic centres, Japan is known for being on the bleeding edge of technology and given that Rockstar wouldn't be recreated Tokyo, but rather re-imagining Tokyo within its own universe it would be interesting to see them use this creative license to advance the available technology, could we see the return of the jetpack from San Andreas. (I for one would be disappointed unless a GTA based in a Toyko-esque city didn't allow me to hire a robot butler.)
