Alan Wake 10 Years Later: 10 Moments Worth Revisiting Bright Falls For
4. The Anderson Farm
Despite all the psychological horror and dark mysteries that
reside at the heart of this game, Remedy never forget – as with all their titles –
to have a little fun along the way, too.
Whether it’s the witty dialogue between Wake and his comic-relief agent Barry, a cameo from Sam Lake himself showcasing his trademark Max Payne face, or a peculiar pair of old rock musicians, there’s plenty of lighter moments to be found in Bright Falls that make revisiting this town all the more worthwhile.
No moment, however, is as over-the-top enjoyable than later in Episode Four where players get the chance to fend off waves of Taken on a giant stage complete with pyrotechnics to the blaring soundtrack of “Children Of The Elder God” by fictional band Old Gods Of Asgard (aka Poets Of The Fall), who also featured in Remedy’s recent title Control during the equally insanely brilliant Ashtray Maze section.
Giving the player all the tools they need to make short work of a small army of Taken, this section is a much-needed respite where players can forget about the tension for a moment and take pleasure in what Remedy do best.
