6. Terrible Enemy AI

Compounding this is the fact that the AI of the enemies is poorly designed throughout. We know from the Alien movies that the Xenomorphs are silent, stealthy hunters, capable of sneaking up on you despite their imposing size, crawling along the ceilings to deliver a nasty surprise. However, here the Xenos are reduced to brainless drones, idiotically running headlong into your streams of ammo, and dying far too easily from far too few bullets, exploding into a mess of ooze and body parts. This does little to help the already limp sense of dread; what's to be scared about when you can cut through the dumb enemies who are only too enthusiastic to eat your Pulse Rifle rounds? The Weyland-Yutani soldiers who come after you are slightly more intelligent, but that's not really saying much; they occasionally take the time to hide behind objects, but they can be rinsed with only slightly more effort. Where are the Xenomorphs who hunt in packs and avoid detection? It boggles the mind how badly Gearbox thought this through (or rather, didn't).
