6. Classic Characters Are Confirmed To Return, Along With Amiibo Support
There are a lot of characters in this franchise. We mean a LOT of characters. But throughout the Direct, we saw confirmation of many favorites throughout the franchise returning in some capacity.
Timmy and Tommy Nook are back and running the Nook’s Cranny shop. Blathers will come back to run the museum. Mable and Sable return to the tailor’s shop. Even Isabelle will show up after you build your community up enough to provide the assistant services she’s well known for. Plus we saw a lot of other familiar faces: Celeste, Savannah, Kicks, Gulliver, and more will show up in some capacity.
Adding into that is the fact that Amiibo support is also enabled in the game. Previously release Amiibo figures and cards are compatible, and can be used to summon that character to your campsite. In addition, you can go to the “Phototopia” island to take pictures of those characters in various outfits and locations.
Not every single card/figure will be compatible at the beginning, but the free updates mentioned before will add support for them over time.
