Arkham Origins: 6 Playable Characters Revealed so Far

batman-arkham-origins-release-date-0-600x300 Now Arkham Origins€™ release date is only round the corner, we figured this would be a good time to give a rundown of all the playable characters revealed so far. The game has already outdone both its predecessors in terms of character choice, with each player character having a unique fighting style that makes them seem like their own personal rather than just a copy pasted computer programme. Saying that, a distinctly noticeable lack of female still hangs over Origins€™ head like the sword of Damocles, ready to drop and cause a poo-storm at any second. Here€™s hoping Talia Al Ghul or Batwoman show up before release, otherwise Warner Bros Montreal could receive a much more controversial release than they€™re expecting. While some details have had to be kept back for legal reasons, we€™ve given as many gameplay and graphical details as we can before embargo breaks. Anyway, let€™s get this list going...

6. Batman

batman Given the game is called Batman: Arkham Origins, it would be a pretty huge twist if the Dark Knight turned out not to be a playable character. So far he€™s the only one known to be available in the main campaign, though some have suggested there might be a secondary hero who makes an appearance at some point (presumably in a similar manner to Catwoman in Arkham City). Maintaining his best features from the previous games, Batman will be able to fly, fight, and hunt just as well as he did in the previous games, with the added bonus of him now having more advanced detective skills. While this may seem strange from a timeline perspective, it has been established Bats takes different gadgets on every mission, as his utility belt can only accommodate a certain number of tools. Consequently, only a simplified detective device was used in the previous two games as sleuthing was not a priority during his attempts to stop Joker and Dr Strange. Batman is also the only character currently confirmed to be playable in both the challenge maps and multiplayer mode, with other confirmed playables restricted to one or the other. This means players get to beat up strangers on the internet too, rather than just villainous AI. Levelling up in multiplayer mode will grant access to a number of different skins and gadgets, and the challenge maps mode is presumably largely the same as in previous instalments. Essentially he€™s just a slightly skinnier, better equipped version of the Batman we€™ve seen in Asylum/City, so there should be few surprises for those already familiar with the franchise. If you haven€™t played an Arkham game before, well... shame on you.
