Assassin's Creed Kingdom Wishlist: 10 Things We Need To See

1. Avoid Crossover With 2018's God Of War

If they’re going to go Norse, this is something they have to be really cautious of. Not too many games explore various eras of history, so largely Assassin’s Creed has only been compared to other games in its own series. If they go Viking though, they’ll undoubtedly be compared to God Of War.

Given the masterpiece Kratos’ most recent outing was, going toe to toe seems foolish. They’ll be much better off distancing themselves as much as possible. One way to do that would be focusing on the boots on the ground Vikings rather than the Odin and Thor stuff. The title of Ragnarok doesn’t suggest they’re heading in that direction though.

Ragnarok refers to the destruction of the Norse Gods, and some have speculated the next God Of War game may have been eyeing the same title. It might just be Assassin’s Creed cashing in on residual Thor: Ragnarok love rather than anything else though.

Obviously, God Of War is a story driven hack and slash game, while Assassin’s Creed is open world and places value on stealth. There’s definitely a lot of differences, but Assassin’s Creed needs to play to them to stand out.
