2. Nail The Mythology
Alongside the fact that more recent games have chucked out realism for splendour and far gimmicks, the core mythology of Assassin’s Creed has kind of gotten away from them in recent years. Templars are bad, and this one has the Apple Of Eden, so let’s kill them last, the end.
It’s a series which is quite basic to pick up and play, although even if you’ve been with them since Altair you might not fully grasp the plot. The game doesn’t do you any real favours in that regard though, so a getting a better handle on the what and the why instead of just following the mission parameters until the end of the game would be useful.
In short, the more divine part of the game needs to stop being an add on. The Ones Who Came Before have an opportunity to be a central part of the game, with the Vikings and very religious group with devoted worship and many Gods.
This could be the chance for a course correction for a part of the series which has clearly been lagging in recent years. Focusing on them instead of the usual Norse pantheon solves another problem too...
