2. Captain America And The Avengers
Considering the resurgence of pixel art and indie titles, this 1991 childhood nostalgia-fest on the NES almost looks right at home in 2015, being the first game to put you in the boots of Cap, Iron Man, Hawkeye or the Vision, all framed as a very enjoyable side-scrolling Streets of Rage-style brawler. It's worth hunting out for the art style and retro charm alone, as it didn't do particularly well with critics at the time - instead an entire generation latched onto the possibilities of playing as multiple Avengers simultaneously in the co-op mode. To be fair at the time that was more than enough, as you bashed seven shades out of the opposition with a friend or solo. With things like flinging Cap's shield across the screen or firing Iron-Man's lasers feeling like some of the most rewarding and eye-popping fun available at the time, you can probably get this on your phone these days with minimum tinkering, and it's well worth a revisit as everyone celebrates all things Marvel across the next few weeks.
