Batman Arkham: Court Of Owls - 10 Villains That MUST Appear

5. Doctor Hurt

Batman Arkham Insurgency
DC Comics

Doctor Hurt has existed since the 1960s, but didn’t really come to any sort of prominence until Grant Morrison revived him in 2008.

Being for all intents and purposes a rather recent character, it’s unlikely he was going to feature in either Asylum or, realistically, City. He’d been established enough to have made the cut for either Origins or Knight, but since they didn’t use him he offers a fresh villain for WB Montreal to use in Court Of Owls.

Doctor Hurt is a psychologist whose origins are deliberately spotty. At various times, he’s been linked to the Devil and the demon Barbatos, as well as suggesting he may be a long lost Wayne, Bruce Wayne’s evil twin or even his own father. That’s not even mentioning the times it’s implied he’s either a minion of Darkseid or Darkseid himself.

There’s certainly a lot to dig into and explore there, and if definitely wouldn’t be a bad thing if WB Montreal kept his origins vague. However, with the Court Of Owls itself obsessed with the Wayne family, plumbing for the long lost Wayne angle would add some extra intrigue to the central story arc.
