Batman: Arkham Knight - 8 Huge Flaws Nobody Wants To Admit

8. You€™re Going To Miss The Joker Immediately

There's no getting away from it, Batman's greatest rival isn't going to be in Arkham Knight, and yet even the tie-in AK comic featured on the events of his corpse more than anything Bruce or Knight-related - showing that the creative team are well aware of how much people want to know more about the character. Eventually the Clown Prince gets incinerated, (assumedly) putting an end to his antics going forward, but even if he Jigsaw's his way back into some form of existence through video footage or left behind plans already in motion, it's not Mark Hamill behind his pipes and it's not a 'proper' Joker story. That said, is anyone really that excited about fighting the Scarecrow instead? Sure he looks suitably gruesome and it appears he's doubled down on his fear toxin to 'realise your worst nightmares' or whatever, but the Scarecrow sections in Asylum were some of the worst parts of that whole game. The dream scenes in City were even worse too, with Ra's al Ghul darting off ahead and you having to perfectly swoop and climb your way towards him. When a developer's level design is centred around dream sequences, it straight-up never works - just ask Max Payne with his blood-trails - and alongside the Arkham Knight who's biggest draw is his identity, having Scarecrow as the other main villain is a bit of a misstep.
