Battlefield 1 DLC: 10 Specific Things Fans Demand

6. Naval Superiority

Anyone who's anyone knows that The First World War wasn't just fought on land, but by sea and air as well. The naval conflict in particular was of special importance, as German U-Boats began to target allied merchant ships in an attempt to effectively starve Britain out of the war. We already know the result of that particular facet of the conflict, but, considering Battlefield has sold this specific entry on its credentials depicting the 'birth' of modern warfare, neglecting such a formative aspect of naval combat would, for all intents and purposes, seem just a little daft.

The dreadnought is a thing to behold in multiplayer, especially if you happen to be the poor sod caught in the barrage of its 12 inch naval guns, or, if you happen to be unfortunate enough to be doing a fly-by, in the flak of its AA guns. But it got me thinking, how would such a behemoth work if it was forced to go up against another of its ilk?

Think about it, how fantastic would a map revolving around the Battle of Jutland be? I know Battlefield isn't meant to be World of Warships, or indeed, anything even of the sort. But naval gameplay has an awful lot of potential in it, especially if you think about adding aircraft to the mix.

Combine that with some fleshed out animations, and maybe even some more roles on the ships themselves, and you could have a piece of content that outmatches Battlefield 4's Naval Strike with ease.
