4. The Eastern Front

Thankfully confirmed in the Premium Pass's initial announcement, the addition of the Eastern Front to Battlefield's multiplayer is bound to turn heads, considering just how pertinent it was to the outcome of the war itself.

Being on the East, the formation of this second front (fought in tandem as engagements on the west grew to a standstill), involved action from the Russian Empire (on the side of the Entente Cordiale with Britain and France) and Romania, against a larger combined force of Germany, Austro-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria. Crikey.

The results of the front were mostly devastating for Russia, with the country sustaining millions of casualties and culminating in the capitulation of Brest-Litovsk, which saw the nation (now under Bolshevik control), exit from the war.

Despite this defeat, the war in the east was anything but a one-sided affair. In fact, early months yielded many Russian victories, which, again, forced the Central Powers into a bloody war of attrition, involving trenches, disease, gas, and all that other malarkey that has come to ingrain the all too familiar image of the war's horror in the public conscious.

And of course, weapons too will be added in abundance. I'd expect a smaller focus on the conflict's mechanised elements this time around, but hey, if you happen to be one of those guys who hates tanks so much, then this could be the DLC for you.
