Battlefield Bad Company 3: 10 Leaked Details You're Not Supposed To Know
6. Emphasis On Destruction
While a whole new technology has resulted in the destruction Battlefield is known for being more visually impressive than ever (levelling a skyscraper in 4 or watching a blimp crash to the ground in 1 is absolutely breathtaking), the series has never topped the destruction found in the original Bad Company titles.
Because while it may not have had the visual spectacle of later games, the fact that you could destroy pretty much anything separated the game from every other shooter, in its own franchise or otherwise.
More than being a gimmick though, destruction offered a genuine tactical advantage. Because pretty much every assault rifle came equipped with a grenade launcher by default, you were encouraged to make your own entrances to buildings, destroy bridges to stop enemy armour from moving through, or making your own cover by blowing yourself a nice crater to lay in.
Being able to bring virtually every building in a map crumbling to the ground, the destruction element could completely change the shape of any multiplayer match, and it was glorious.
