2008 - FIFA 09
Game producer David Rutter stated at the time that there were over 250 improvements in the game for the latest in the FIFA series. The more noteworthy of these improvements was the addition of a player collision system. The players individual weight class was taken into account for instances when players went shoulder to shoulder for the ball, which determined who was more likely to win the ball. Be a Pro was expanded, allowing gamers to play up to four seasons in career mode as either a pre existing or created individual player. Clive Tyldesley and Andy Gray again provided the commentary in the English version. However in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, Tyldesley is replaced by Martin Tyler. For the first time, users could purchase extra commentator voices in different languages from the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace. User controlled celebrations made their debut in the series, with players being given free reign over how and where they celebrated a goal. In previous versions, gamers had to watch a pre-ordained cut scene of their team celebrating a goal. Now, by pressing a variety of button combinations, gamers could perform unique goal celebrations just about anywhere on the pitch.
