Before GTA V: 10 Classic GTA Features That Caused Major Controversy

1. The Age Rating

You see that little red '18' symbol in the bottom left of the above image. As I'm sure you'll know, that means that this game is for adults only and considers an adult to be persons over the age of 18. Of course this symbol is different dependent on the country of release, but worldwide it's accepted that GTA is not for minors, not even one bit. "But minors invariably get their hands on it" you might cry. That is irrelevant. Minors might get their hands on their mothers vibrator, does that mean that sex toys should be barred from existence? And while we're at it, Minors might get their hands on medicine that wasn't prescribed to them, shall we ban that too? The controversy here lies in the fact that, despite GTA being clearly and exlusively aimed at the adult market, each point of controversy in this entire list is geared around the detrimental effect it might have on minors. If you ask me, there's no issue. GTA isn't, never has been and never will be aimed at minors, so if anybody criticises its unsuitability for children, they might as well start criticising baby food and its unsuitability for fully grown adults. However, every time a new GTA game comes out, it seems we hear from thousands upon thousands of concerned parents (who're probably for the most part p**sed because they bought the game for their child not realising how violent it actually was) getting up on their soapboxes to declare war. Suuuure, blame a video game by all means, never your own poor parenting of course. It must be nice walking the path of least resistance. So there are ten classic GTA features that couldn't help but cause controversy. Anything you'd like to add? Think I'm talking out of my exhaust? Get commenting why don'tcha?
