BioShock Infinite: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

10. BioShock Infinite and BioShock Ties

It might share some of the same name, it may mirror some of its predicaments and it might have a relatable monster, but it is still unknown whether these games share the same universe. The fact that Irrational Games are avoiding answering the question automatically suggests to me that it does, but it could just as easily be a thematic inspiration. But if the game did have some narrative links, the real twist would be how they were linked. Maybe the creator of the Songbird had some hand in the creation of the big daddy, or something much bigger, such as BioShock€™s events being an alternate reality and/or alternative outcome to the events of BioShock Infinite. Andrew Ryan, the founder of Rapture in BioShock, had been motivated to create a society that separated itself from the government and religion to establish a €˜mind virus€™ free community. The founding of Rapture could have been the ironically disastrous result of an attempt to avoid the conflictions of BioShock Infinite, which was interestingly caused by a division through politics and possibly even religion. Now, that could be an insightful twist to the series and a surprising reveal, even with that prediction. But this is just speculation so BioShock Infinite€™s mysteriousness will have to be a placeholder for excitement in this category, but I believe we can be reassured with known certainty that we have everything else to be excited for. BioShock Infinite comes to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 February 26th 2013
