BioShock Infinite: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

With BioShock being released 5 years ago and BioShock Infinite being delayed until February next year, I think it's worth an excitement reminder... or 10.

You€™d think it€™d be impossible not to be excited for a BioShock sequel, but even for a colossal title such as the original six years of waiting to quench that desire for J.J Abrams inspired bizarreness is a long, long time to wait. Yes, we had BioShock 2, but let€™s be honest with ourselves that game leant more towards the direction of cash flow. Plus, BioShock Infinite likens the return of the original creators, Irrational Games. So, that€™s already one reason why we should be excited. I think it€™s now best to list our ten before we get ahead of ourselves, but more importantly to help enforce that reminder of why BioShock Infinite will be out of this world.

1. €˜Done When It€™s Done€™ Attitude

When a big, ambitious game such as BioShock Infinite takes a while to make it, it sends off either one of two messages; this game is having development troubles and needs a quick resolution, or, this game is something special and needs the time and care to be great. Both of these situations are quite extreme, but based upon past experiences that tends to be the case. Thankfully, you can normally tell between the two quite easily - It€™s all about company reputation. When a company like Blizzard take 11 years to make Diablo III, you know it€™s because they want to make it right, and that they€™re going to get it right. That kind of renown transfers to Irrational Games through a solid past of solid titles, and then a fast track to fame with BioShock. Although with that logic If BioShock Infinite was delayed to 2020 it€™d be a long wait but it€˜d also be mind blowing, that€™s taking the €˜cherish for quality€™ theory a little too far.
