Black Ops 2: 10 Reasons CoD is No Longer the King of Online Multiplayer

4. Competition is Too Fierce

CoD€™s multiplayer often frustrates me. Many fans play more zealously than even Nuns worship Jesus Christ; they€™ll play for hours, for days, for weeks, months, years even. They€™ll learn every nook and cranny of every map, and play non-stop until the muscle memory in their thumbs guarantees a headshot every time. I€™m sorry, but I just can€™t find it in myself to care about almost anything enough to warrant dedicating that much time to it, especially something that, really, when you think about, yields no end result. Don€™t get me wrong, I€™m not whining. Who am I to judge? Play how you want to play, as much as you want to play for the rest of your life, and I€™ll die defending your right to do so (disclaimer: may be hyperbole). But when it comes to online multiplayer, I€™m looking for a more easily accessible experience (GTA IV or Red Dead Redemption for example), as are countless others. You€™ll still find your hardcores of course, in any online shooter, but on the whole, in most other shooters, you can usually just jump right in and start getting a healthy amount of kills. I guess what I€™m trying to say is that I€™m no masochist, and often, attempting to integrate yourself into the CoD online community is nothing short of masochistic. Many of us would just rather take our business elsewhere.
